AHH! File this sunrise engagement session under “forever favorites.” I’m from a small town far from the city and would rarely, if ever, classify a city as “peaceful”, but this Washington DC sunrise engagement session WAS truly so peaceful. I met up with Maddie and John right as the sun was coming up over the capitol and the air was calm, soft, and honestly just felt soft. The weather wasn’t chilly, but just perfect. Walking around with them by the Lincoln Memorial just truly filled my soul with the sights and sounds. The sky was orange as the sun came up and the reflection on the water along with the temperature could put anyone in their happy zone.

My first impression of these two was their energy. They were full of life and ZEST and it was just turning 6:30 in the morning. They were dressed to the nines in a suit and gorgeous white gown with the *most* darling bow and bedazzled shoes. Talk about WOW. They looked incredible and I loved that everyone around Washington let them know! Maddie loves style and it was so fun to see her personality in the outfits she chose. We had such a blast walking around the Lincoln Memorial, constitutional gardens, stairs, and monuments. There were definitely people around, but it felt like we were in our own little world!

We all had a blast chatting, laughing, and enjoying the gorgeous morning. I am so excited to photograph their wedding next year. Enjoy some of my favorite images from their Washington DC sunrise engagement session.
