I’m so excited to share Claire and Danny’s engagement session today. As their Annapolis engagement photographer, we spent time downtown exploring the charming city before ending at the epic dock for some waterfront portraits.
These two are from Florida and were home visiting for the weekend in frigid temperatures. We even got some snow 2 days before their session! They braved the cold and you would never be able to tell Claire’s toes lost feeling from the look of these pictures. Claire and Danny met at Florida State University and have been living together in warm and sunny Florida ever since. I am only a tad bit jealous as the snow graced the sidewalks and they were telling me about their native home. However, the snow added a fun factor to their photographs and gave them a different feel for their photos which they loved!
Here is what Claire had to say about their proposal: The proposal was in Tallahassee on the day of my graduation with my Masters so July of 2022! Both of our families were coming into town (and meeting for the first time in person not via FaceTime) so it was a perfect time to have them there with us to celebrate. The only part of planning I was involved in was showing him the ring I liked but aside from that, nada. After the ceremony, I said I wanted to take pictures as a family/of us so we went to one of the well-known statues at the football stadium. Side note – I had also joked that I wanted to get engaged at a castle because two of our friends got engaged at a castle in Germany so I was thinking, wow that looked so magical. Doak Campbell Stadium was the closest thing to a castle in Tallahassee haha. Anyway, we were taking pictures and Danny said to me, why don’t you take your cap off for this one? Me, being confused because it was graduation said, why would I do that? To which Danny replied, just take it off and proceed to take it off my head. It was at that moment I knew exactly what was happening. Our families were there (minus Danny’s sister and brother-in-law who were 10 minutes away rushing from Tampa) and it was all a blur. Of course, I said yes! It was a little nerve-wracking having both our families watching and in hindsight, we both agreed they should have been a little farther away so we could have soaked the moment in a little more, but we were ecstatic we could celebrate with them afterward. Danny also surprised me by having my best friend come which was amazing.
I’m excited for their Spring wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club! Enjoy some of my favorite photos as their Annapolis engagement photographer!
