One of my very favorite places to be is on the water. And especially if I can have coffee (or beer) overlooking some kind of waterfront. I tell my husband all of the time that the requirement for retirement is a little cottage overlooking some kind of water. I’m not picky. It doesn’t have to be the ocean, but a lake or pond will do. That is why I love photographing Terrapin Nature Park Engagement Sessions so much! These sessions are on the water and there is just nothing better.
Terrapin is flooded with gorgeous views of the Chesapeake Bay as well as soft hues and calming water vibes. But, I also love the secluded areas full of lush greenery and fencing and a little bit of privacy. The other amazing feature of Terrapin Nature Park is that it is DOG friendly! It is hard to find locations that allow dogs these days (especially with the beach!), but not here. Katherine and Solly brought along their pup and she was just the sweetest as could be. I love that they got to include their furry friend for some of their important memories.
Katherine and Solly’s love story and proposal story is one of my very favorites. They met a few years ago and on their second date they went out for dinner and drinks and ended up at Solly’s house where he serenaded Katherine on his guitar alongside good wine. After his surprise proposal to Katherine at Broody Vineyards, he serenaded her again with his ukulele with their families nearby. I can only imagine how incredible their wedding is going to be on the Eastern Shore next year! Cannot wait to photograph at Herrington on the Bay!
