A few weeks ago we traveled up to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland to spend some time with some of our dear friends. Caitlyn really wanted some maternity photos near her families lake home and at Swallow Falls and graciously invited our family up to spend the day with them on the water before their sunset session that evening. We had such a fun day in the sunshine while also being able to take McKinley on her first boat ride!
Caitlyn and Jason were married last September and our now expecting their first little babe in the Fall! There are so many #CaitlinGilbertBrides that are getting promoted to the title “Mom” this year and my heart is so full and happy. Maternity sessions are my new favorite thing to shoot. While I will always love weddings, there is something so special about witnessing parents to be in their element. I love that I am able to be there on these journeys for my sweet brides.
Swallow Falls was such a gorgeous backdrop for this session! Shooting in new locations always fills my adventure cup and we even got our work out in with all of the staircases on the trails. Our background included lots of rocks, trees, water and lots of forest areas. We even were blessed with such a gorgeous pink sunset as we headed back towards the lake.
I’m so honored that these two have trusted me with their portraits throughout the years and can’t wait to meet their sweet baby girl Everleigh in the Fall! OX
