It all began in 2016 when Shannon’s friends challenged her to meet as many “Nicks” as possible at a local bar. After a few drinks, Shannon called out the name, and Nick turned around. They quickly discovered they had both grown up in Virginia, and that summer, they spent time getting to know each other. Though they weren’t ready for a relationship at the time, Nick kept the connection alive by sending Instagram messages and Snapchats, keeping the spark ignited.

In February 2019, fate brought them back together. Nick, stationed in Las Vegas, and Shannon, a travel nurse in San Diego, reunited for a visit. That first hug and kiss sparked a connection neither could deny, and after months of long-distance dating, they made their relationship official in September.
