As a Chambersburg family photographer, I often reflect on the fleeting nature of childhood. I remind myself, “You won’t always have a baby on your hip.” It’s a mantra I repeat every time my two-year-old asks me to hold her for the 919th time in a single day. But as any parent will tell you, these moments, though exhausting, are some of the sweetest in life.

Watching my girls grow has been a beautiful journey. While I’m constantly told to “cherish every moment,” I’ve found that each new stage of their lives has brought me joy in unexpected ways. From the sweet coos of a newborn to the sassy humor of a toddler, I’ve discovered that my children have a way of teaching me just as much (if not more) than I teach them. Parenthood, truly, is a wild ride.

That’s why I love what I do as a family photographer—capturing these precious moments at every stage. There’s something so special about documenting the bond between parents and children, especially when those little ones are in their most playful, curious, and joyful moments. Sure they have their moments, but that is what makes the session even more fun and special.
