Spring into summer portraits might be some of my very favorite. The weather is warm, but not too hot. The trees are green and the fields are grown. The mornings and evenings are cool and often include a little breeze and my personal favorite: not too many bugs! We had the perfect overcast day this past weekend to take some maternity portraits of Molly, Matt and Baby Ganley at Antietam Battlefield in Maryland.
We were all thrilled with the mild weather and gorgeous settings and my photographer heart was happy to see lots and lots of tall fields and grass. I often get asked what my ‘favorite’ or ‘most epic’ portrait location has been and I can honestly say that I just love to shoot where there is tall grass and a pretty backdrop like some mountains or waterfront when everything is in bloom. The green and blue tones make my photo heart so happy.
Molly is an absolute stunning momma! I must have told her 100 times that she should be a model for me. Between her luscious hair and makeup that she did herself, (!!!!) her style really came to life with her outfits and accessories. My favorite was her hat and now I’m wondering if I can pull off a hat for each and every outfit in my summer wardrobe. I am so excited for her and Matt and can’t wait for their September arrival! But, fingers crossed for an October baby and an opal birth stone for Mom 😉
